Company Overview     

CPI Mortars were pioneers within the UK construction materials industry in the late 1990’s with the construction of the UK’s first dry mortar plant. It is now the only national dry mortar producer operating across a network of nine EuroMix manufacturing plants. EuroMix dry mortars, renders, plasters and concretes are used by the major construction companies in the UK on housing, industrial, educational and infrastructure projects.

CPI also operates a state-of-the-art bagging operation at Carlton Manufacturing which supplies the merchant and contractors’ market with a range of bagged ready to use concrete, mortar and fence post mixes.

CPI are part of the Grafton Group Plc, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange and who provide us with brilliant support as the parent company.

 

Job Description  

As a highly motivated and technically skilled IT Support Engineer, you will be expected to support a 3rd party helpdesk function with day to day computer hardware and business application problems. The successful candidate will be responsible for helpdesk escalations, smooth operation of business applications and business functions in primarily a Microsoft O365 and SAP Business One environment.

 

A key part of your role will be to liaise with key stakeholders at our sites, fostering good working IT and information security practices.

 

We are open to flexible working hours and hybrid support.

 

Other responsibilities include:

 

*         Provide IT support both remotely and on-site ensuring issues are logged via the 3rd party helpdesk, tracked and escalated to successful resolution

*         Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment

*         Manage the deployment of new hardware, software, and systems across the organization

*         Ensure compliance with IT security policies and assist with the implementation of security measures

*         Work closely with all other 3rd party support providers to ensure issues are logged/ tracked/ escalated and resolved in a timely manner (eg Networking/ telephony/ applications)

*         Maintain documentation for IT processes, procedures, and solutions to support future troubleshooting and onboarding

*         Maintain IT asset inventories across the organisation

*         Participate in the provision of colleague training and provide advice on the efficient use of IT systems

*         Ensure excellent customer service by responding promptly and professionally to colleague requests

*         Occasional travel to other sites across the UK

 
 

Job Requirements

Essential:

*         Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in a clear and concise manner.

*         Proven experience in IT desktop support or a similar technical support role

*         Proven Microsoft O365, Sharepoint, Onedrive management

*         Knowledge of Active Directory, user account management, and basic networking concepts.

*         A team player with the ability work with colleagues and external stakeholders in a collaborative manner

*         Being able to progress multiple tasks independently without close supervision

*         A can do, proactive approach to problem solving and supporting challenges that our business and stakeholders face.

*         A passion for success in the achievement of goals and targets.

 

Desirable but not Essential:

*         Knowledge of mobile device management (MDM) and remote deployment tools (e.g.,  Intune)

*         Experience of Microsoft EntraID/Azure cloud tools
